Story

A house with over 450 years of history.

Originally, the house was used for black powder production, hence the name. Most recently, the house inhabited the well-known dialect poetess “Pulverer-Maridl”. The Pulvererhaus has been modernised with great attention to detail. Now, the latest comforts combine with unique charm.

Edification

The Pulvererhaus was built by the Archdiocese of Salzburg and the Gastein trade union `` Die Weitmoser`` for the storage of black powder. In 1543, about 50 tons of copper ore were mined in 19 mines. The removal was discontinued in the 17th century.

The dialect poet Maria Seidl (Pulverer Maridl)

Maria Seidl discovered her poetic talent early on. After the children were away, she also had the time to put her works on paper. She wrote many poems in dialect during this time. Many of them for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations and funerals. She performed her works at many events.
