A well filled coffee tin on arrival. A rustic, Alpine interior combined with modern design and beautiful winter decoration. A crackling wood stove and a cosy cozy corner. A sauna that smells of Swiss stone pine. In the morning and in the evening a time-controlled, comfortably warm heated bathroom. Cosy hours at the parlour table and a schnaps after the winter sports.

The Pulvererhaus is a magical place: Stefan, who is a full-time carpenter, and his wife Anja lovingly restored an old wooden house from the 16th century in the cute village of Urpaß near St Veit. The result is an extremely cosy wooden holiday home, something that is rarely found in Austria. Everywhere in the house natural materials are processed, everything is handmade. Nothing is missing here, especially for families with children. If you want to leave the house, take the ski bus right outside the door.

The house was perfect, warm, cozy and very clean. The area is ideal for many activities such as skiing, sledding, hiking and snow fun. A really easy drive from Salzburg Airport (about 45 minutes) and easy for day trips back to the city. I will definitely recommend this house and come back. Anja & Stefan were excellent hosts and our stay in the super nice restored house was lovely. The house has all modern amenities and is just a 12-minute drive away from the St. Johann Alpendorf Ski Area.
